Shaded by the large Jacaranda, the H trio met outside this low-set Queenslander converted cafe. We gabbed and gossiped over coffee and matcha lattes, whilst eagerly awaiting our brunch delights.
Strawberry satisfied her sweet tooth with a luscious bowl of Mango Tapioca. Black rice and tapioca pudding topped with fresh mango, passionfruit, strawberries, pistachios, shredded coconut and a pineapple flower.
Eldest pineapple chose wisely with an Eggplant Couscous. Deep aromatic flavours and hinted spiciness of the eggplant relish upon golden couscous and smoky garlic sauce, topped with tomatoes, mint and pistachios.
Last but not least, the Salmon Pastrami. Flakes of smoky salmon, garlic dressed asparagus, almonds, jiggling eggs and a sweet, tart and deeply savoury caramelised onion relish that ties the dish together.
Our entranced conversations were momentarily paused by the quiet that follows the first bite. Cosy yet classy, this little Queenslander is kicking all the goals.
