Our frosted coats were drenched in gold by the lavish lights of The Langham. Red Macaron and I climbed up the cascading staircase and against the current of the glistening fountain stream. At the summit, we were rewarded with the treasures of Eve’s edible garden and creatures of the sea; palates of the world; and nectars of art.
Our first collection consisted of East and West – Butter Chicken, Turmeric Rice, Tandoori Chicken, Dolmades and fresh greens. The tender and moist chicken with a crisp smoky char was particularly sensational.
Captured in a porcelain basket, Lobster Tortellini and Sauteed Prawns with a Porcini and Butter Sauce. Perfectly seared prawns and smooth al dente pasta wrapping sweet lobster meat, sit in a delicate lake of rich velvety sauce.
Kneaded with the colourful dots of chocolate and plucked from the sides of a tandoor, a revelation of a dish. The earthiness of the fire, the luscious flowing chocolate and freshness of the dough makes a playful naan creation.
The apples of the garden make a sucrose laden plate. Creme Brulee, Strawberry Ganache Tart, Chocolate Fondue, Green Tea Sponge, Rosewater and Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Mousse were a sample of the plethora of sweet delights.
Having being tainted with the forbidden, we were turned back to the wintry night and left with the lingering taste of poisonous luxury.
