Just as a cocoa pod is worth is weight in gold, so is our treasured Cardamom Pod. Here, the food speaks of life, love and peace.
Like a nirvana all draped in nature’s finest foliage, an assortment of turquoise chairs, silk-wrapped posts and chocolate timbre tables greeted us. Meeting the morning sun as Red Macaron and I arrived was a new experience, as was the recently introduced Breakfast menu.
Our first breakfast occasion consisted of the Pod Big Breakfast and French Toast. The Pod Big Breakfast was no understatement – crisp croquettes of sweet potato, kale and quinoa topped with zesty relish, saucy homemade beans, half an avocado dressed with sunflower seeds and pepitas, well seasoned juicy tomato salsa, sourdough and grilled tofu. Unlike any other breakfast spread; flawless.
The French Toast. Seared to crispy perfection were these morsels of fruit sourdough coated in banana coconut creme, topped with caramelized banana, berry jam, blueberries, walnuts, coconut yoghurt and a dusting of cinnamon. Just the right amount of sweetness, full of wholesomeness and so much love put into making this and put into my belly.
On our second breakfast date, the Red Macaron tried the Italian Tapas Board. Walnut and rosemary bread sticks, caramelized figs, seared asparagus, olives, sage butter roasted button mushrooms, roasted capsicum almond pesto and labneh. Such a playful savory dish.
Such ingenious flavours, presentation and ideas; the pod of life is growing.
