At a street corner, overlooking the still waters of Burleigh Lake is a homely yet trendy cafe. A lively watercolour graces the back wall, a few books here and there, letters and paintings and fresh pots of flowers and greens adds much character. The Red Macaron and I browsed the shelves of organic and local products while we waited for our meals.
My mexican breakfast of Burleigh Beans and Nachos served with a Poached Egg and Sourdough, soon arrived. The flavours were mild with a subtle hint of spice, a nice creative take on baked beans and toast.
Red Macaron had the Baked Eggs with Bacon, Tomato and Spinach, topped with Hollandaise sauce. The egg yolks oozed deliciously over the roasted tomatoes, crispy bacon and spinach.
All in all, pleasant breakfast and lunch spot with nice, hearty meals.
