In the heart of the concrete, chaotic construction that is Southport, is the eccentric 42Fifteen Cafe. The bright yellow chairs contrast against the ashen wooden tables and scatterings of iron figurines, cartoons in jars and bottles adds interest to the eye.
Sunjo and I were warmly welcomed by staff and it wasn’t long before our orders were placed.
Our conversations were stopped short by the amazing plates before us. Fresh fruits of banana, apple, mango, pineapple, kiwi and berries; dressed in coconut water infused quinoa, buckwheat grains; almonds and seeds; and finished with lashings of vanilla bean yoghurt and honey.
The fruits were sweet and fresh, layered with the crunchiness of seeds and nuts with the mellow quinoa and creamy yoghurt. The presentation was beyond expectation.
Such appreciation for the generous quality and care nourished into the food given to us. All in all, what a wonderful surprise to have stumbled upon this cafe within this busy and haphazard district.
