The expected bakery was nowhere to be seen. Instead, a verandah laced with bougainvilleas and hanging vines; black French provincial chairs; and tables laden with jars of fruit and yoghurt, plates of rustic bread with soft white eggs, mushrooms and pancetta; and a display cabinet full of cakes, slices, cookies, freshly baked bread and baguettes.
One iced coffee in a mason jar, topped with ice-cream and coffee beans please.
To join, one Watermelon and Berry Iced Tea and one Goji Berry Iced Tea. On this 35 degree morning, the refreshing fresh juices from the fresh watermelon, rockmelon, kiwi and assortment of blackberries, raspberries, strawberries with the light cooled tea created a misty magical potion.
Breadface ordered the French Toast with Pancetta, Mushrooms and Spinach, topped with a Poached Egg and Hollandaise sauce. A generous stack of gorgeous french toast, filled with rustic flavours, proved to be a larger meal than expected. Delicious, nevertheless.
Big Salmon was keen for a feasting, and ordered his Haloumi, Mushroom and Asparagus Stack with Poached Egg, Tomatoes, Kale and Avocado on Sourdough, and a side of Smoked Salmon (of course). The Haloumi was on the saltier side, but not a single crumb remained on the plate.
With a choice from three muesli and granolas, I narrowed it down to the Quinoa and Pistachio Granola. Topped with abundant fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt, the granola was extra crisp from the quinoa, and the earthiness from the almonds and pistachio were sensational.
