In the sheltered yet chic Albert Lane is where you’ll find the big red V of Vapiano.
A spacious two storey restaurant with simple wood and steel design emulating a stylish pop-up kitchen. To add to the fresh atmosphere, each table features its own garden box of thriving parsley, basil and thyme. The open kitchens are stocked full with soft, flour-dusted pasta of all shapes (even with wholemeal and gluten free pastas). Pick your pasta, sauce and meats then watch the chefs create your plate. Alternatively, there’s always fresh pizza dough being rolled out and into ovens, salads and antipasto. With a bar at the opposite end of the kitchen, this place would also make a great night out.
Above is the Gamberi E Spinaci – a creamy pesto sauce coating gorgeously curled pasta with tender prawns and sauteed spinach.
On another occasion I had the Aglio E Olio – An olive oil, garlic, chilli and parsley infusion with added prawns.
Red Macaron accompanied me and had the Antipasti Board – paper-thin prosciutto, pepperoni, parmesan, buffalo mozzarella, olives, roasted vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes and crusty bruschetta.
Overall, I have much love for Vapiano’s wonderfully fresh pasta, the unique interactive kitchen and lovely dining area :)
