Stepping out of the car with a mild seabreeze, blue skies, cawing of seagulls and the crunching of ice – welcome to the Sydney Fish Markets.
The scent of seaweed and fish grew stronger as we marched forward. Fresh silvery and scaly creatures fat, flat or round; red coral crustaceans; pink, white and orange fillets; beiged slippery bellies of exposed shellfish…truly a seafood bliss. Eating options were vast: fried, baked, grilled, mornay, raw, marinated or mixed; sashimi or sushi; Asian or Greek.
We opted for takeaway so that we could enjoy the comfort of home. Our selection consisted of: Soy, Ginger Chilli Abalone; Grilled Barramundi; Mornay and Kilpatrick Oysters; Battered Fish, Seafood Stick, Prawn and Calamari; Grilled Octopus; and Soft-Shelled Crab and Raw Salmon and Avocado Sushi.
One happy family :)
